The sky was covered in clouds, it seems to be the theme of weddings for me this summer. I arrived at Running Deer Golf cLub and the rain was trying its hardest to ruin the outside ceremony. I entered the bridal suite and you would have never know it was so gloomy outside. Elisha and her bridesmaids were incredibly warm and welcoming. The rain won and the ceremony was moved inside but It didn't matter. the love in the room was contagious and I was so excited to be the one who was there to capture it. After the dances, the speeches and dinner, Nick took the mic. Everyone was given warning that if you wanted to say 'hi' to them they could find them on the dance floor the rest of the night, and that is exactly where they were for the next 2 hours. The dancing was amazing and only ended when the music was silenced and the lights came up. Congrats Elisha and Nick!
The drive up to Reading, PA was surprisingly relaxing and scenic from delaware. I arrived to a very warm greeting from Caitlyn and her bridesmaids. There was a lot of laughing and a lot of stories being told. Everything went off as planned and Cait and Dave were married! The party began and the dancing didn't end! In the end it was about good friends, good food and lots of love! Congrats Caitlyn and Dave! Thanks to my second shooter Kelly Marie Photography!
After many days of the "chance of rain" as well as two canceled dates, we finally had a clear day for Adel and James' maternity shoot. The light was great, the air was warm and the momma to be looked radiant! It almost...ALMOST makes me miss being pregnant :-). And after all this, the little boy decided to make his appearance 3 weeks early so dad could celebrate Father's Day!
All day the clouds were threatening to open up and force the ceremony inside. The guests were seated, the music started and the ceremony began, as did the rain. The umbrellas came out and the ceremony continued. Lianna and Frank didn't seem to notice the rain, their eyes were solely on each other. Congratulations to Lianna and Frank!
No one remembers the cold. Everyone worries about rain on their wedding day, but what about snow? On December 9th I had the extreme pleasure of photographing Ryan and Nicole's wedding. I first met the couple through my family. I was immediately struck by how kind and caring they were to everyone. They are both quick to make friends and easy to be friends with. I arrived at the salon with the snow outside slowly accumulating. The energy of the room was infectious. The snow was spoken about with excitement. This may have been the most relaxed bride I had ever met, after all, this day was a long time coming. The girls got ready and everyone waited to be taken to the church. We were a little late, but the wedding couldn't get started without the bride of course. Everything went off without a hitch and Nicole and Ryan were finally married!
After the church we went for some snowy photos at Swarthmore College. The men were fairly warm in their suits while the girls were troopers trudging though the snow. The bride even borrowed the driver's coat to keep her warm. We made quick work of the photos and then spent the next 15 minutes trying to find the bus (everything looks the same covered in snow).
The reception was at The Old Mill in Rose Valley, which is beautiful without snow but the addition of it made it even more so. The bridal party had a little break before mingling with guests. After cocktails and the toasts the real party began! Dancing to the music of Slippery Band, the floor was filled up till the last song of the night. What a wonderful way to start their life together. No one remembers the cold.
